A Team With a Stake in Your Project

Every project we take on across the Shenandoah Valley starts with the same commitment to keep our word, do quality work, and treat the people we work with like family. That commitment is also why every eligible team member at Harman is an employee-owner, sharing directly in the success of the company they help build.

Our Mission

“To design and build great places for our clients to work and live in and a strong company in which our employee/owners can build their future.”

Our mission goes hand in hand with our vision to become the most trusted design-build contractor in the Shenandoah Valley and neighboring communities. We know that we cannot build trust with clients without first building a company that our team trusts, believes in, and is invested in.

Our Company

Harman became an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) in 2019, giving every eligible employee-owner a direct stake in the company's long-term growth and success. What started in 1971 as Harman Farm Supplies, founded by Carl Harman and his brother Orden, has grown into the most trusted design-build firm building the Shenandoah Valley.

Our Team

Being employee-owned changes how our team shows up to work. It means thinking like an owner on every jobsite. We recognize the crews and teams who show up this way, because every safe workday, satisfied customer, completed project, and innovative solution contributes to a legacy that keeps growing.

Our Legacy

Being legacy driven means understanding that the decisions we make today help shape the future of our company. We’re dedicated to honoring the past, celebrating the present, and building a stronger future for every employee-owner, because the legacy we carry is the future we build.

That investment of our team shows up in your build too. Because our employee-owners share directly in Harman's success, they each have a personal stake your project. Start a project with us and work with a team that has every reason to get it right.
