Harman Construction, Inc. provided Preconstruction and General Contracting services for the new Cedarwood Dorm at Eastern Mennonite University. This was a new 3 story, 35,724 sf LEED Gold certified project. The building had (58) dorm rooms and featured a lounge and kitchenettes on each side of every floor. Brick, block, and concrete materials from the old Oakwood dorm which had been in the footprint of Cedarwood were used in the building pad and as aggregate under new sidewalks. Energy efficient VRF HVAC systems were used along with other green technologies to achieve this highest level of LEED certification.
