A New Recreation Facility for Bridgewater

Construction is well underway on the Bridgewater Wellness Quarter, a new recreation facility designed to provide year-round opportunities for activity, fitness, and community gathering. Inside the new facility, residents will find a variety of recreational spaces designed to serve the whole community. We are proud to partner with Mather & Daly Architecture to develop a design that reflects both functionality and the character of Bridgewater.

Designed for Various Types of Recreation

The gymnasium will feature multipurpose floors for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. This creates flexible space for both organized sports and casual play. Above the courts, an elevated mezzanine will support a three-lane walking track, providing a dedicated area for exercise and year-round activity. The facility will also include a party room, offering space for gatherings, celebrations, and community events. Together, these features create a versatile facility designed to support a wide range of recreational uses and bring people together in one place.

The Benefits of a Butler Building System

To achieve the large open spaces required for a recreation facility, the building was constructed using a pre-engineered steel system from Butler Manufacturing. The system allows for large clear spans without interior columns, making it possible to accommodate full basketball courts and recreation areas without structural obstructions. The pre-engineered system also provides flexibility in both layout and exterior design, as well as long-term durability.

Supporting Community Spaces in Bridgewater

The Wellness Quarter project continues our work on several well-known community destinations in Bridgewater. Previous projects include Generations Park, home to the town’s popular ice skating rink, and Sipe Center, the downtown movie theater and performing arts venue. Both of these projects have become central gathering places for the community, and we’re excited to see how the Wellness Quarter will add new opportunities for recreation and connection in Bridgewater.
