Honoring the People Who Protect Our Communities

At Harman Construction, we are proud to celebrate First Responders Month by highlighting the work we’ve done to support the brave men and women who dedicate their lives to keeping our communities safe. From fire stations to training facilities, each project is designed to give first responders the tools, space, and support they need to do their critical work effectively.

Harrisonburg City’s Station 5 Fire Station

We’re proud to be part of the team building the new Station 5 fire station in Harrisonburg, a project decades in the making. This modern facility will improve emergency response times in the Park View area and support Harrisonburg’s growing community. This project represents a long-term investment in the city’s public safety infrastructure and will serve generations of firefighters.

Dayton and Fulks Run Fire Station

We are also leading the construction of two new fire stations in Rockingham County. The Dayton Fire Station is progressing with steel erection, roof installation, and structural work, while the Fulks Run Station focuses on interior finishes. Once complete, both stations will include training areas, workout facilities, bunk rooms, and apparatus bays designed to support firefighters’ daily work.

Wintergreen Fire & Rescue Burn Building

Beyond traditional fire stations, we’ve also had the honor of constructing a live fire training facility for Wintergreen Fire & Rescue. This specialized two-story “Burn Building” is designed to withstand extreme heat and repeated training exercises, giving firefighters a safe, realistic environment to develop critical skills. Its multiple rooms, stairs, windows, and doors replicate real fire scenarios, allowing teams to train effectively and prepare for emergencies.

building for those who serve

Every project for first responders reflects our commitment to building with purpose. Whether a fire station, apparatus bay, or training facility, our goal is to support the people who protect our communities. We are grateful for the opportunity to create spaces that help first responders work safely and effectively.
